Sandra Higgins is an established Independent Art Advisor and
Curator based near Bath in the United Kingdom. Her expertise includes a BA in Fine Art and a MA in Art History. She was a practicing artist/printmaker and tutor in the US. Sandra specialised in contemporary abstract painters and sculptors, which she first exhibited in her Mayfair gallery in the early 1990’s.
As an independent Art Advisor, Sandra represents a wide range of artists within a variety of genres suitable for clients ranging from private collectors to corporations and public galleries. Her background also includes charitable work: as a guide for the Tate Gallery; as the former Vice-Chairman of the Chelsea Arts Club where she organised educational talks by outstanding individuals in the arts for the club members each year, and Sandra is a founding member of the Association of Women Art Dealers in London. As well as representing artists internationally she also acts as a curator and has organised exhibitions on behalf of Gallery 6 Imperial Wharf, Old Broad Street Headquarters of Landmark Plc, Blacks Club Soho, and Mark Powell’s Photographic Gallery in Soho, London, the Piper Gallery, London and the Colombian Consulate, London. In addition, she exhibits artists annually at international art fairs and organises ‘pop-up’ shows regularly, the most recent being the art salon evenings of private receptions to
meet selected artists held at home in Chelsea.
Over the past three years Sandra has developed an interest and expertise in Latin American Art with a focus on Colombia. She visits Colombia regularly and creates exchanges between artists and galleries. She is currently producing a documentary on the arts and culture of Colombia and will be going there from Oct. 2015 to March 2016 to continue her research. Upon her return, she will be organising a group exhibition of Colombian artists in London and further information will be available soon.
